Hi,
I have a Netgear WNDR4300 v1 with latest official firmware available V1.0.2.80, this serial number 32m3415f00398 and this FCC ID: PY312100187
Here http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/netgear/wndr4300 is described that the WNDR4300 v1 is very similar to WNDR3700 v4, but I cannot find where to download the correct firmware. Since if I look at the list of available firmware here https://downloads.openwrt.org/barrier_breaker/14.07/ or here https://downloads.openwrt.org/chaos_calmer/15.05/ I cannot find neither WNDR4300 v1 nor WNDR3700 v4 nor Atheros AR9344 chip.
Please, can you provide me the download link? Can I install both firmware versions BB 14.07 and CC 15.05? What is the best for my router?
Thank you

hi

you have a very detailed page on wiki.. read it
also seems to have a forum page.. also read it
https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=41094
on top of that you might need a TTL serial adapter.. red wiki

this is CC image i think
https://downloads.openwrt.org/chaos_cal … actory.img

the images are organized by CPU architecture/ROM type.. ar71xx/nand in your case
when you flash over OEM fw you flash with factory image
when you upgrade OWRT fw you could flash sysupgrade image but if recommend you to always flash factory fw

you can install whatever fw is supported..

Hi makarel,
thank you very much for your fast reply. I already read the wiki page, but I was looking for Atheros AR9344 chip not ar71xx/nand chip. Now I have 15.05 firmware on my WNDR4300 and I also flashed and old DG834G v3 with 12.09 firmware. In the latter case DG834G, do you recommend to install a newer firmware since it is very slow with 12.09 firmware?. I already read this thread https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=41812.
Thank you

The firmwares for 3700 and 4300 are both here: https://downloads.openwrt.org/chaos_cal … 71xx/nand/
I'm now have the 15.05 version installed.
You don't need to install both the two versions because they are almost the same expect the software version.
