The router NP28G does not have the OpenWRT. The Compex WRAP Board WP54 is able to support the OpenWRT. It comes with the OpenWRT loaded inside the Board. You can simply customize your AP easily by using the WP54 Board Solution.

Pls look at the website below for more details about our Compex WP54-WRT :

Question: can the WP-WRT run OpenWrt Kamikaze yet, by which I mean built only from source in OpenWrt's own source repository?

Compex's released source code appears to be a fork from an old version of OpenWrt (April 2006). If that's the case, anyone using this as their base would lose any improvements and bug fixes made by the OpenWrt developers since that date.

Thanks,

Brian.

Hi, Brian,

The most probably that our Compex OpenWRT Board can run the Kamikaze inside. You can try it out.

The released source code is changed everyday. You can easily upgrade the new version yourself. You can get the new update source code through online easily since it is open source.

If you are the OpenWRT hobbists, you should not have problem for the upgrading part. You can play around the product and put in the new source code everyday.
Perhaps , it is very easy for you.

Maybe, but it's still not OpenWrt. That's where the confusion arises.

On the other hand, if WP54-WRT does run genuine OpenWrt, then there shouldn't be any need for you to release your own separate code tree.

It's not much of an issue while Kamikaze is just a testbed for developers, but once there is a production/stable release of Kamikaze, it will be the difference between people being able to run "official" released OpenWrt binaries or not.

The Compex WP54-WRT Development Kit is suitable for those who like to try and experienced the powerful of the OpenWRT devices. If you not like to try and explore the new thing inside our openwrt device, i think you wont like the device. Since it is open source, you can simply update, debug and modify our default source code version urself to meet your own requirement. It is easy and flexible!

Our OpenWRT source code(April 2006) is only work as a example to show how easily OpenWRT can be made to run on our OpenWRT Board.

Mike.

WP54-WRT just supports Kamikaze and not WhiteRussian, does it not?

The status of WP54 is still "Forked" refer to below,

Forked - Vendor has released some source based on an older snapshot of OpenWrt, but it has not been merged back into the main OpenWrt source tree,

Mean Compex provide its own OpenWRT  not the Kamikaze, but i beliv it is soon will support kamikaze and merge back into the main one.

Info
http://wiki.openwrt.org/OpenWrtDocs/Har … pex/WP546E

Compex WP18 is the one that support kamikaze, not WP54.

link http://wiki.openwrt.org/OpenWrtDocs/Har … ompex/WP18

I saw from the website WP188 is out with 4 MiniPCI.

Is it support OpenWRT as well ?

Any other Firmware does this boardd Support ?

Please give me some information about this board. I have a big interest with this board.
Datasheet and harware manual will be good . I cant find about this board in internet yet.

I tried your WP18 it work fine n great.

I f you are interested on wp188 see my posts:  Openwrt on compex Wp188 instead of Wp18

I Have problems with minipci wireless boards on wp188:

Someone can say me why the board don't find the wireless card Atheros WLM54AG connected on the mini.pci slot?
May be a problem on the addressing? strange because the minipci support is embedded in the ixP425, i think.. a bios problem? do i need to load a bios for ath card like i'm loading it for  ethernet boards?

.. i will post the same question also directly to compex support.

Thanks
Enrico Betti.

Enrico, Pls send the email to support@compex.com.sg. They will provide technical solution to you.

Greetings,

I would like to ask if  the C-54PWE Rev A6.1 product supports the latest OpenWRT/Kamikaze. The unit has a MyLoader version 2.32.0515.

For kamikaze 7.07 it only support board with loader Min V2.43
and from my conversation with the Tech support the loader it is meant for internal use only. So i would like to suggest to you to contact the support and request for the Latest one. However you might need able to identify urself before get the loader file. (Perhaps this is what i did smile)

SUCCESS!!!

I am talking about C-54PWE Rev A6.1  board. (I am confused about naming with Compex WP54 boards...)
My board is this:
http://www.aerial.net/shop/product_info … cts_id=390
or this:
http://shop.antcor.com/shop/product_inf … cts_id=134
or this (???):
http://www.cpx.cz/produkt.php?c=routery&i=87

The board comes with Myloader V2.32 and is preloaded with Ikarus.

The upgrade file to 2.43 is here:
http://www.cpx.cz/dls/WP54AG_linux/OpenWRT_IkarusOS/

After upgrade I downloaded the openwrt-adm5120-wp54ag-jffs2.bin to board.
Now openwrt runs smile

(The board is now recognized as WP54AG... I dont know if this is correct...)
