I have read a lot about buildroot-ng in lot of pages.
What is not clear to me is if
svn co https://svn.openwrt.org/openwrt/trunk/
is the buildroot-ng branch or not?

Buildroot-ng was merged with Kamikaze a while back. So there is no separate buildroot-ng branch anymore.
https://svn.openwrt.org/openwrt/trunk/ contains the current development branch (i.e. the merged Kamikaze/buildroot-ng branch).
