Topic: Swap and transmission

The content of this topic has been archived on 26 Mar 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

I've tried OpenWRT 0.9 on a brand new Asus wl-500gp and i'm very happy and confortable with it. Now i'm using also the latest version of webif^2 r3040.

First i wont to use a swap file (i know is better a partition but for now i need only more memory and i need to parted my hd). I can't find swap-utils in the repository neither on the backports...where they are?

Second, freeloader is good (thanks to the author) but i need multiple torrents, two or three can be much better.... with the Oleg's modded firmware i've used transmission+transmission.cgi and this is almost perfect for my needs.
Where i can find all packages?  i think transmissiond, transmissioncli, transmission.cg and a cron script i think.
I've tried some packages from nslu2-linux.org but they install all in /opt..

Thank you
Ciao!

First you need to have an already made partition for swap.
Then you have to install a newer busybox to get swapon.

Use this repository http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/optwa … ss/stable/ to install it.

Then example: /opt/bin/busybox swapon /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part2

I think you should also look here

Hope this helps.

EDIT. I think its possible to change the dest of the ipkg install of newer busybox but maybe somebody else will help.
Anyway why do you want to use transmission if u dont have an HDD ?
