I'm trying to configure my Linksys WRTSL54GS as a simple little SSH server/file server behind a Netgear WRT614.

I was hoping to use it as a simple wireless client so I can stick it in an out of the way location in the basement/etc.

I've followed the instructions at the ClientModeHowto (http://wiki.openwrt.org/ClientModeHowto) but for some reason the Linksys still wants to behave as an access point.

I also installed the x-wrt packages and used the graphical interface to set and re-check the settings.

But, my laptop STILL tries to associate with the Linksys as if the Linksys is my wireless access point.  And, if I leave it on long enough, it actually end up initiating some sort of death cycle that end up locking up my Netgear wireless router as well.

The wireless radio is currently OFF, but here's all nvram wl0_ variables:
