Topic: Problem connecting with WLAN (WPA)

The content of this topic has been archived on 3 Apr 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

Hello!

I have just updated from RC5 to 0.9 with webif2. It works fine so far, but WLAN now seems broken. NAS is installed and running - PS shows:
/usr/sbin/nas -P /var/run/nas.lan.pid -l br0 -H 34954 -i eth1 -A -m 4 -k <snip> -s Voice of Free Arcadia II -w 6 -g 3600

I have enabled WPA (not WPA2) and TKIP+AES.

And running kisMAC on my iMac returns the network as WPA secured.

But when I try to connect, my mac only says an error occured, or if I enable WPA2 and try to connect with this, it says the encryption method is not supported.

Any help?

SOLVED IT!

I accidentally enabled "Split WLAN from Switch bridge". I disabled this, and now WPA works.

Hi Loeckchen and all,

I am new to OpenWRT, and i have quite the same Problem.

I can connect to the wlan only if I have encyption disabled. When i have WPA1, WPA2 or both, i cannot connect to the wlan. Neither on linux with the gnome-network-manager, nor on windows with the intel pro-set-tool. It always stays in the Auhtenticating state (German: "der Authentifizierungsvorgang für die Netzwerkverbindung wurde begonnen"). It is the same, if I enter the correct key or a wrong one.

Has anyone an idea which option to change?

regards michael

I don't know, it worked for me since I disabled the option "Split WLAN from Switch bridge" (I set my webif to English). It can be found under Network -> WLAN.

Hmm. I have the same problem yet (setting WPA1 and AES), but there is NO option "Split WLAN from Switch bridge" or something else, neither in english nor in german. Can anyone tell me how to set WhiteRussian 0.9 correctly, so that my notebook works again?
I can try every WPA-settings, my notebook does not connect. But when I disable encryption, the connection works fine sad

I have installed the Webif2 Web interface. There, I go to "Network" in the upper menu, and then in the lower menu from left the second item "WIFI-LAN". There is "Split WLAN from Switch Bridge".

I don't know how to get it in the "standard" Web interface.

I installed the Webif2 to get more options (e.g. a NAT rule editor which was removed from 0.9 since RC6 (or so))

Hmm. Where can I get and how can I install Webif2?

BTW: the problem is solved. I would never realize why such a basic-package as nas is is not installed by default and then is uninstalled when updating from RC5 to 0.9... Grmpf.

The discussion might have continued from here.
