Topic: Kamikaze @v2.4 vs Kamikaze @v2.6: which is better?

The content of this topic has been archived on 26 Apr 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

I'm on the WRT54GL v1.0 so I can't move to the Kamikaze right now.

I read here that the Kamikaze is far superior to WR v0.9, does this superiority apply to the Kamikaze on the v2.4 kernel as well?

(I.e.: is it worth moving to Kamikaze on v2.4 kernel from WR v0.9?)

Kamikaze has newer wifi and encryption drivers

Does a 2.6 wireless driver work with broadcom chipsets now?

That answer would be a "no"

I am afraid not all applications work correctly on 2.6 at now

OK, I have just finished the RAM upgrade...
Now, with the 32MB on board - it's time to try the Kamikaze on v2.4 kernel.

I'm currently on WR RC6 default|squash, which image would you suggest?

Thank you in advance.

Maybe I am telling a lie, but on OpenWrt download section I can see just a 2.6 image for kamikaze.
And about WRT54GL, I think wireless not to work with 2.6 kernel (see http://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=10662). On mine it didn't work.

The discussion might have continued from here.
