Topic: AR7 on SX541: Warning: unable to open an initial console.

The content of this topic has been archived on 8 Apr 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

Hello!

I would like to share with my bootlog from running linux (almost) on SX541.
I`m using the https://developer.berlios.de/project/sh … e_id=12556 kernel and nfs server with rootfs made from openwrt.
It mounts /nfsroot but then stops, i can`t do anything, my SX541 just answer ping`s.

Is there a console device (/dev/console in your nfs root fs)?
If not, the warning is not surprising...

Stefan

the message is printed on all kamikaze platforms

there is no /etc/console on boot; it's created at bootup by the preinit script

Ok, thx for the hint (i live in a udev world with debian:)

I`ve made /dev/console /dev/zero /dev/null /dev/tty /dev/tty1 /dev/tty2 /dev/tty3 /dev/tty4.

and then i had some succes:

Yuupi!!!

Ofcourse i recive lot`s of warning regarding iptables, but that`s not importand now.

When i try to telnet to the router - it close the connection. SSH is not working.
Only http works - i`ve index.html i /www and i can see it thru webbroser :)

Can you help me please how to run telnet/ssh(dropbear) ??
