Topic: WRT54GS - can't enable boot_wait?

The content of this topic has been archived on 20 Apr 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

I try to change boot_wait setting with my router WRT54GS v1.0, followed instructions via Ping page, it always response 'Invalid IP address or domain'.  Did anyone encounter this before?

I think it's not wired configuration issue, because if I put an exist IP address in the field, it can response me correct result.

thanks,
Wallace.

The old ping bug got fixed ages ago; you can't pull that trick on their recent firmware versions. It's safe to use the webpage to load the openwrt binaries we've posted, after you boot into openwrt set boot_wait via the commandline.

Thanks for the information.

Basically, I worried about if I want to load back the Linksys default firmware ... because the route (WRT54GS) is not my, I borrowed it from my friend and have to return it with original one.

I only have WRT330Nv1, and from the HW support list, it seems not support now.
