I am looking for an openwrt hardware solution that is similar to a Wrap solution What would be the best hardware and perhaps cheapest for getting openwrt running right next to your outdoor antenna? miniPCI support is a must I would think...

Hi

Use WL-300g from Asus.
Has PoE, Buttons,Leds,Broadcom Device,Antenna jacket,16MB Ram 4MB Flash, Wallmount and so on. Price is quite cheap. Runs OpenWRT.

Hi Suschman,

I'm trying to get OpenWrt & ChilliSpot to run on my WL300G , so far I can only upload with Freifunk 0.6.x and Experimental Build-no luck with Chillispot. Could you tell me which snapshot do you run on your WL300G ?

Thanks

Ken

what kind of wireless card does it have?  I said about miniPCI so one can get a better wireless than the broadcom such as prism, cisco 350 or atheros. Here is some good reading for Receive Sensitivity

kensinit: you may have more luck for an answer if you open a specific topic for the issue you are having... :-)

Hi

I have a 500g and Openwrt is new to me, i used the chupa.nl firmware till yesterday. Sorry that i can´t give you a hint.

Acoul: It has the Broadcom 45g chipset and this IS very good since it has all modes supported, including monitor mode AP isulation. TX pwr is adjustable aswell if you need this. It´s like a 500g without LAN ports and USB.
