hi,

since i installed ipkg ping can't resolve any domain (ping google.de)

when i want to remove it via web-interface i get this:
ERROR: Refusing to remove essential package ipkg-sh. Removing an essential package may lead to an unusable system, but if you enjoy that kind of pain, you can force ipkg to proceed against its will with the option: -force-removal-of-essential-packages

Nothing to be done
Successfully terminated.

how can i remove it!?

shit: now i removed the ipkg. how can i get it again on my busybox?

a lot of greetings from austria.

neutral

I'm not 100%, but I think you're going to have to reflash.

It sounds me strange. If your network parameters are correct, you would be able to ping any host.
I don't know what firmware version are you using. Actually, ipkg is an essential package for the applications management. Why don't you reflash your AP with a package set which already includes ipkg?

What is the output of :

 cat /etc/resolv.conf

hi,

always when the linksys reboots he has only 192.168.1.1 as dns entry in resolv.conf.
when I put my providers dns ip in resolv.conf.auto it works. i always wrote the data in /etc/ppp/res

when I put my providers dns ip in resolv.conf.auto it works. i always wrote the data in /etc/ppp/resolv.conf but after reboot i must reenter the dns

ps: because i uninstalled ipkg, i copied the ipkg and the libary file from any other linksys with same firmware in the "defect linksys". it worked. but the dns problem was from beginning, because before i uninstalled ipkg instead of ipkg-sh i also had to enter the dns entry every time.

what is ipkg-sh? in the list of installed software it doesn't appear, but in the list of available installable software it also disappeared. on the second router it is in the list of installable software.

a lot of greetings from austria.

Maybe I'm telling a lie, but I think you have to save your dns settings on nvram to have them set on boot
