Topic: Can't install Kamikaze on WL500gP

I just bought new ASUS WL500g Premium to replace WRT54GL that was running Kamikaze for several months (and WhiteRussian before that).

I tried both http://myhost.webhop.net/openwrt/openwr … s-xwrt.trx and standard http://downloads.openwrt.org/kamikaze/7 … uashfs.trx through ASUS's Firmware upgrade screen. Both files report "Invalid file". Checksum matches - so it's not download problem. Isn't this the right file? Should I be using different flash method?

TIA

Just use the tftp method. just did the samething today

Thanks, belrpr, for such a quick response. If only I spent 5 more minutes reading documentation, I would notice that

Looks like most people won't be able to install OpenWrt using the Asus web interface. You can try the web interface in case it works, or skip directly to the tftp part (which works for sure).

SOLVED.

tftp worked as a charm. As docs said, the router didn't reboot automatically, but once I rebooted it manually - WhiteRussian is up and running

RTFM
