Topic: DHCP on asus wl-700ge

The content of this topic has been archived on 7 Apr 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

I am having a problem with dhcp on all lan ports and wireless.
It never worked on default flash. Clients just wait for an adress.

Thanks a bunch.

Because the WL-700gE only has 2MB flash, dnsmasq is not included in the default image.

hey Hamburg I a going to fly there in Sept. to visit my sister and go to a Manufacturing show. I will be there for 2 weeks smile

Thanks but I did ipkg install dnsmasq

I just realized when I tried to restart it:

root@OpenWrt:~# /etc/init.d/dnsmasq restart
/etc/rc.common: eval: 1: /usr/sbin/dnsmasq: not found

I will try to -force-overwrite when I get the WAN back online.

Thanks a bunch for the quick reply.

Is your system running from hard disk or from flash?

I started running from hdd then went to flash so now I am running usb flash drive.

DHCP is working now after I did

ipkg upgrade

But now I can't ping WAN from wireless clients

After some research it may be because I have my network set up as follows

DSL PPPOE
DLink RouterWAN

Dlink LAN
ASUS WAN

Wireless clients connect through Dlink or Asus. Dlink works fine but Asus wireless clients can't ping internet or dlink router.
