Hi!
I flashed my Linksys wrt54gl (v1.1) with kamikaze 7.06!
While I would change my ip settings I had a power breakdown. The result is, that I haven't any ip address to access the router sad

What can I do now, to (re)set the ip address?

Thanks for your reply!
I  read that before, but for the tftp method I need the IP from the wrt54gl, but the router has no IP sad
My Settings:
Local Port 1-4: no static / dynamic IP
WAN Port: dynamic IP (DHCP)

So, only the WAN Port will get an IP from per dhcp, but I have no access to the router, if I use the WAN Port (only port 25, 110 and 143 are open)

What kind of linksys utility to you use?
The setup tool from the original cd?

Ok. So the tftp method cannot work. It works if the firmware is corrupted, but yours is not corrupted, it's just misconfigured.
So not even linksys utility can help you.
If you selected boot_wait=on on your nvram, you can use failsafe mode. See http://wiki.openwrt.org/OpenWrtDocs/Troubleshooting

uh, I think failsafe on 7.06 is broken... it works correctly on pre-7.07

correct, failsafe mode doesn't work sad
The last chance is a serial console, isn't it?

should be quite possible to just reflash it work it known working firmware over tftp. you CAN use it if the firmware is intact, it just takes proper timing

Hi,
I am in a similar situation, but I messed up the /etc/config/network file, vlan0 and vlan1 values.
I could not talk to the router anymore, neither via with static nor DHCP assigned IP address.
I think even the tftp method would not work. I tried that too. Have you found a resolution yet.
Please post it if you have. Any ideas how I can i talk to the router again would be highly
appreciated ....

thanks a lot,
