Hi

I just tried to do firmware upgrade on my Asus WL500GP with a firmware built
from subversion trunk (r7973). After using mtd to upgrade firmware, the box
is dead. No ping from LAN. The power light goes ON, then OFF, then ON after
5 seconds and stay on. I fear that the bootloader does not pick up my new
kernel. I assume the current kernel is 2.6.22 right?

just tried r7914 which works fine (2.6.22)

so either something is broken between revision r7914 and r7973 or my setup is br0ken..

Works for me (2.6.22.1, rev7947), but I regularly get weird "Bus error" or "Segmentation fault" errors.

I checked r7973, and it boots just fine.

Still, I'm hitting "Bus error", "Illegal instruction" or "Segmentation fault" on random occasions.

same here. But when you push reset button imedetely afted the power led goes down, it starts blinking , and then you will see ping answer and you'll able to log via telnet. unfortunetely even after setting the password and rebooting the router do not work.

For me, it just boots fine.

These "Bus error", "Illegal instruction" and "Segmentation fault" errors are a bit weird - I'm getting them with 2.6.22.1, 2.6.22, 2.6.21.5.

The last OpenWRT kernel which didn't give me these errors was 2.6.19.2.

same here, 2.6.22 from kamikaze 7.07 works, 2.6.22.latest from trunk doesnt, firmware upgrade kills my wl500gp
