Topic: WPA (PSK) + TKPI problem arisen after updating from RC6 to 0.9

WhiteRussia RC6 version encrypting has been set as WPA (PSK) + TKPI. Notebooks were able to connect to router using wifi. To different notebooks have been working with the above settings. After upgrading to  whiterussia  0.9 I’m not able to connect to the router using wifi if any encrypting at all is enabled. If Encryption type is disabled, I am able to connect to router using wifi. To notebooks have different operation systems installed (Windows XP and Vista). Does anyone has an idea what might be wrong and how this can be resolved?

Thanks a lot in advance,

more than likely your issue is within the encryption type.  the default windows wireless has the capability to use WPA (PSK) + TKIP, so I don't completely understand why you aren't able to connect.

changing the encryption type to WEP might help, or WPA (PSK) + AES might help.  I would also try to check the advanced wireless settings to ensure you don't have automatic wds or filter mode on.  If filter mode is on, and no mac addresses are assigned as 'good', you won't be able to login.

Thanks for you help, I will try again and let you know. On the first attempt changing type to WEP did not help. Filter mode is off.

I fixed this porblem. After upgrade the file /etc/init.d/S41wpa was missing (I don't know why) and I recreated it and my WiFi is working with encryption now. Everybody, thanks for help! -)
