hi,

I have a problem with my 2 Wrt54GS.

I wrote a script to backup the one and restore this backup to the other router.

Today I recognized that both routers have the same hw mac adresses for eth0 and eth1.

But how ca I restore the Original Mac Addresses?
Is it possible to recover the addresses?

Because now there are problems to get the both working together in one network.
Of corse I know why the same mac addresses are not possible.

please help me.

EDIT1:

I checked my backup of nvram I made many month ago:

wrt1:
wan_hwaddr=00:0F:66:C7:6B:AC
lan_hwaddr=00:0F:66:C7:6B:AB
wl0_hwaddr=00:0F:66:C7:6B:AD

et0macaddr=00:0F:66:C7:6B:AB
il0macaddr=00:0f:66:c7:6b:ad

wrt2:
lan_hwaddr=00:0F:66:C7:6B:AB
wan_hwaddr=00:0F:66:C7:6B:AC
wl0_hwaddr=00:0F:66:C7:6B:AD

et0macaddr=00:0F:66:C7:6B:AB
wl0_maclist=00:0F:66:C8:77:8F

but I don't know what every nvram var means.

does one wrt have 2 mac adresses? one for wlan and one for eth0? or only one?

EDIT2:

If I do this:

mtd -r erase nvram

Does it reset the HW MAC to original too?

EDIT3:

SOLVED: If anyone got this problem too, just type the command you finde in EDIT2. It restores the MAC too big_smile
