Topic: kamikaze 7.09 DHCP not working on wifi

The content of this topic has been archived on 20 Apr 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

Hi,

I'm using kamikaze 7.09 on a wgt643u. I've activated the wifi interface and i can
successfully associate with my notebook.

However after associating the notebook does not receive any IP.

I've logged into the router and I;ve manually rebooted both network and dnsmasq and
after this operation the notebook can associate and get an IP.

However evry time I reboot the router I must login and restart those services.

Any hints?

I've just compiled a new image from trunk and everything works fine.

So I assume that it was a bug in the 7.09 release.

Bye

I'm happy you solved, but for me dhcp works fine on 7.09. But I'm using Udhcpd.

Maybe is something in the startup script. I've flashed the router with the official image. Then i've removed a line in /etc/config/wireless in order to activate the wifi interface. After a reboot a client can associate but does not get an ip.

Everything works fine if a restart manually both network and dnsmasq (in this order).

I had similar problems with 7.09 on my ASUS WL-HDD-2.5.  I never tried starting dnsmasq manually.
Downgrading to 7.07 fixed these problems.  This image works fine for me, and the fixes in 7.09
don't give me anything I particularly need or want.

I now have a multi-SSID setup (that just tickles me pink) with different  flavors of auth on each to test for various client configs.

Hi,

as i wrote the first attempt was with the 7.09 release. After I download kamiakze from svn and i
used the buildsystem to create a new image and everything worked perfectly. I was using some
netger wgt634U.

So they probably changed somethingin the official release that made the dhcp work again.
