Topic: ADM5120 supported kernels

The content of this topic has been archived on 7 Feb 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

Hi everybody,
I'd like to ask some questions.

I'm using an ADM5120 infineon board with linux from
buildroot (not openwrt), but it's somehow related.
I've tried patches for kernel 2.6.12 from

http://www.student.tue.nl/Q/t.f.a.wilms/adm5120/

and also patches for kernels 2.6.21 from openwrt
project with 2.6.21 kernel.

My problem is, that I'm still getting mchecks in
ebtables or zlib. I've read somewhere, that this
problem is related to TLB but I'm not sure what
can couse this problem or how to fix it.

When I switch of ebtables and bridging it behaves
more stable but sometime still crashes.

Which kernel versions are tested and stable on ADM5120??

Thanks a lot for Your help

Jakub

Hi,
I have a Compex WP54 which is a ADM5120 based board and supports a patched version of OpenWrt.
I'm using 2.6.22 without having problems.

Kamikaze tip builds with 2.6.23.1 and runs very nicely for me.  I've had no lock-ups at all, unless it was related to USB (a WIP)..

The instructions here  http://www.student.tue.nl/Q/t.f.a.wilms/adm5120/  are very much out of date, and were more of a proof-of-concept than a fully working solution.  I think you will be much better off using the Kamikaze subversion tip, and raising tickets if you have problems, because at least there is some support.

The discussion might have continued from here.
