Submitting patches to the mailing list is now recommended for easier review.

It looks like OpenWrt development has been moved to GitHub, and the preferred format for submitting package patches has changed again?

Submitting patches for Openwrt core has stayed the same, but submitting patched for feeds (packages, luci, routing, telephony etc.) has changed and is now done at Github.
