Topic: How do I use WPA with TKIP encriptation instead of WEP?

Hi.

Following some tutorials and the openWrt's wiki, I have succesfully configured my "La fonera 2100" like a WPA-PSK Access Point with [s]WEP[/s] AES encription. (Kamikaze 7.09)
My old PDA is only compatible with WPA-PSK (TKIP).
Do you know any way to configure the Fonera with WPA-PSK (TKIP).

I have installed the "hostapd-mini" package. Is this right? Is there any other package more appropiate?
I can't find any proper information on TKIP for WPA-PSK APs.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks!, but this info is useless, cause it doesn't explain how to use specefic TKIP encryption. Using this information you get an AP with WPA-PSK and [s]WEP[/s] AES encryption.

See you...

I'm not sure what you mean by that. You essentially have three choices for wireless security: WEP, WPA, or WPA2. With WPA and WPA2, you have the choice of using TKIP, AES, or both for encryption. If the script for your router model works like it does for the Broadcom routers, specifying PSK or WPA selects TKIP and specifying PSK2 or WPA2 selects AES.

Thank you everybody for your help.

When I said "WEP encryption" I wanted to say "AES encryption".     Sorry, my fault.

The problem was that following the official documentation, you get an AP with simultaneous TKIP + AES encryption, but my PDA was not working correctly with this configuration.

That's why I wanted to get an AP with only TKIP encryption.

Now I have upgraded the firmware of my PDA and I have installed the hostapd package instead of hostapd-mini and everything works correctly.

Thank for all!
