Topic: madwifi (?) strange behaviour

The content of this topic has been archived on 29 Apr 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

Hi,

im getting   quite strange behaviour with an image compiled from trunk for   RB133 with CM9 card (madwifi)

After   random time :

- the box doesn't transmit data anymore on wireless interface
- If i disassoc/reassoc the WPA key is asked but no way to assoc back

the syslog shows the message :

"ath_mgtstart: discard, no xmit buf"

It seems to be a quite old madwifi bug and i've tried some workarounds :

tips from http://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=13376 and from madwifi forum

Without success sad

The only way to put put wireless in function is to reboot or to "wifi down/up"

The strange thing is that this problem shows up for 1 or two weeks with the up-to-date trunk from svn.

Does anyone have seen such thing/have any idea ?

The last thing i haven't tried yet is to downgrade madwifi.

Thanks and have a good evening/day

Yes, I noticed some error messages too with "trunk"
I have older versions of Kamikaze, works fine....

finally it seems that the solution is to modify the file :

trunk/build_dir/linux-adm5120_router_le/madwifi-dfs-r3053/ath/if_athvar.h

at line 232 change the ATH_TXBUF value from 200 to 400

(cf : http://madwifi.org/ticket/717)

currently i'm 4hours uptime without problem.

Could this setting be integrated by default ?
