The content of this topic has been archived on 8 Feb 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.
can someone help me to compile the following packages ??
http://mxhaard.free.fr/spca50x/Download … 208.tar.gz
or can anybody send me an link where i can read how to do this ?!
Thanks !
I got a spcacat that worked with 7.09 (2.6) from here:
http://roombahacking.com/software/openwrt/spcacat.gz
It's not a package so do this:
wget http://roombahacking.com/software/openwrt/spcacat.gz
gunzip spcacat.gz
mv spcacat /usr/bin
Also see this page, in Polish but mostly code that anyone can read:
http://eko.one.pl/index.php?page=openwrt-webcam
Hi, Thanx for the Link
but this is the result :
root@OpenWrt:/usr/bin# ./spcacat
./spcacat: line 1: syntax error: "(" unexpected
Any Idea ??
Hm, that one was for mipsel. What router are you using?
argh ! thats the Problem !
I using the nslu2 with the XScale-IXP42x Family rev 2 (v5b)
where i can get this for this cpu ??
Hi,
this is what I get:
root@OpenWrt:/usr/bin# spcacat
spcacat: can't resolve symbol '__uClibc_start_main'

Hi,
is it possible to make your spacat binary public? I want to test it here...
Thanks & Regards,
moh
Hi, moh
I'm just uploading Kamikaze 10290 (Broadcom 2.6) to http://on-i.de/firmware/kamikaze/kamika … 34u/10290/ with spcacat driver.

Hi Oconnor,
thank you. But I'm looking for the spcacat (http://www.macsat.com/macsat/content/view/36/30/#Using) binary - it seems to be not included in the current spca5xx-view package. ;-)
Regards,
moh
There is no binary anymore. Now its called spca5xx-view, it's also in the download link above. Or just use motion. But I haven't compiled it.
edit:
I compiled that Revison (20071224) that you posted.

Hi,
motion is not compatible with my webcam and spca5xx-le.
All I need is a small tool which is able to periodically grab pictures from a video-dev.
The currently used spca5xx-view package contains just a streaming-app, which is not what I'm looking for.
Maybe I should watch out for a uvc-compatible webcam.
Labtecs WC pro isn't really appropriate to half-light...
Regards,
moh
Hi,
http://on-i.de/firmware/kamikaze/kamika … mipsel.ipk just contains a servfox-based streaming app, but it's missing the binaries I am looking for (as contained in http://mxhaard.free.fr/spca50x/Download … 24.tar.gz).
Just step into your .ipkg... ;-)
Regards,
moh

If your 500g Premium is a V1 then replace the wireless card with a madwifi compatible and use Kernel 2.6. Sorry, can't help you with 2.4 kernels.
Can someone please help me find a spca5xx compatible camera? I tried bestbuy, circuitcity and newegg but did not find any models that are compatible.
Thank You.
can someone suggest a camera that will work with spca driver.. most models listed are not available in store any more :-)
The discussion might have continued from here.
