Why do such a thing?
because, till now I used the snapgear distribution.... and now I want to add openWRT to it.
Because I saw that openWRT contains a kernel to itself...I want the openWRT to use mt kernel (snapgear...)
any idea, experience?
Ran
Better port the features that you need from the snapgear kernel to OpenWrt as patches.
You can then submit those patches to OpenWrt.
OpenWrt was not designed to work with vendor kernels or kernels from different distributions.
but if I want to use a different kernel that there is in openWRT? I want 2.6.16 instead of 2.6.21... (for ixp425XX 2.6)

Then you're on your own. We prefer not to deal with obsolete kernels and instead work on porting forward the stuff that we need.
There is no way to add new Kernel for openWRT? I must use what it gives me?
