Topic: Wireless networking wont "put out"

The content of this topic has been archived on 22 Feb 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

Set up white russian, internet and wired connections working well.

however when I try to get a wireless connection it connects for a bit but never lets me on the internet.

I set up the connection with wep security. Double checked the key and tried it on two separate computers. The signals great and I can connect briefly but it wont let me on the internet and then disconnects me from the router. using dhcp

I believe there is some setting in white russian .9 that I am missing.

went into dhcp leases and enabled dhcp for wan it hasnet worked
so made the wan have a 255.255.255.1 where the lan is 255.255.255.1

Will try it again.

DHCP Interfaces
Interfaces
Name    Interface    Interfaces    Action
lan    br0    vlan0 eth1 eth2    Modify
wan    vlan1    vlan1    Modify
wifi            Modify

Options For wan
Parameters    Value    Action
1    255.255.255.1
    Remove

In case you think there might be some sort of conflict between the WAN and LAN subnet masks...  There isn't.  There is no problem with them both being 255.255.255.0.

well i tried the subnet mask thing but it did not work.
I went into the firewall setting and put in

Match    Target    Port
Protocol: tcp
Source IP: 192.168.1.9 (this is the computer with my wireless client on it)
Destination IP: 192.168.1.1

this rule
I am not sure if i need to put in a port or not. I thought maybe if I specifically told the router to let in the IP address from the wireless computer that it would.

I really am not sure what I am doing with this and could use some help.

Does white Russian .09 work in wireless mode? Is their a fix if it does not If it does work is there instructions on how to set it up or does it work "right out of the box"

This is the last link in the chain of trying to make this thing work. I have had this post here a while with dead silence.

would kamikaze work? I need a web interface to make it work though. I am not much of a propeller head. Just a noob. I tried to install it then found to my horror that secret mystical knowledge and a goat sacrifice was necessary to enter it and configure it.

I think the folks over at ^2 are working on a web interface so us mere mortals can partake in kamikazes glory but who knows.

It should work out of the box. It should also work on Kamikaze. When the pc connects, does it get an ip address from the router? Also have you tried without wep just to see if it works?
