If the old package was on squashfs it is impossible to get rid of it, because squashfs is read-only. It only looks like it has been deleted, because jffs2 and mini_fo hide it.
You would have to recompile Kamikaze without that package and reflash.

Just copy all the files from /etc/config first, and put them back after reflashing.
From my local FAQ:
====== No space left on device / filled up the JFFS2 partition ======
Clean the JFFS2 partition with 'mtd -r erase rootfs_data' and start from scratch. This formats the JFFS2 partition and all your changes you have made after flashing OpenWrt will be lost. This is the most secure way to get your router back to a clean status.
