Topic: Snort on WRT54G, need help

Hi, I'm trying to run snort on my wrt54g, but when I executed the binary it runs out of memory and die:

192.168.0.114 kernel: Out of Memory: Killed process 3398 (snort).

Has anyone installed and properly run snort on a WRT54G ?

I have succesfully installed on a WRT54GS (with 32MB RAM), and saw that snort consumes about 15MB of memory with the default configuration.

Has anyone measured the memory consumption of snort? and the performance?

Thanks a lot.

everything works fine still can surf fast
still figuring out where to store/send log files

There are the files that I used to install snort.

Note : Dont use -v on the lan interface (eth 0 or vlan0)
-v will sent output to screen but since you are connected to lan port via ssh, you get a loop which consumes alot of mem and you get alot of noise.

The discussion might have continued from here.
