Hi,

Is anyone working currently on getting support for these devices?

There is a lot work being done by some guys to support WAG54G (arm7 based processor). If you want to help them wink

But I'm able to put my hands only on a GN-A16B right now, I couldn't find any ar7 nearby sad

Few documentation on it. What kind of processor does it run ? ar9 maybe ? xscale ?

The ar7 platform is NOT arm based (I have no idea why everyone thinks this...) it is in fact, mips.

RItalMan, its RTL8181-based (http://rtl8181.sf.net), which is a "non-mips" MIPS processor. "non-mips" because it lacks some MIPS opcodes which are patented.
As I heard from Kaloz, its toolchain (official or non-official, you decide) has many hassles, also the devices based on these usually have 2Mb of flash memory only, which is the main reason for being unsupported. Yet, I hope. smile

One more thing: As you may note, these boards do not have anything special apart from the (not so) usual JTAG and serial. It may be only a mental masturbation to get these working with OpenWRT, but why not? As far as I know, the official aim of the project is "World Domination".

If your talking about the ar7 platform (and I guess you are since you addressed it to RItalMan, who talked about the ar7) then, as I have said before, this platform is mips. I'm one of the people working on support for the ar7.

I was talking about the RTL8181, telling him what this CPU consists of, and what "non-mips" means in this case.

Oh, sorry, when you said "RItalMan, its RTL8181-based" I thought by "it's" you were refering to the ar7, which RItalMan mentioned... I misunderstood you.

Lol lot of confusion tonight, sorry for having confused ar7 with arm. Ok so effectively the Realtek processor is not a mips one.

First link dealing with RTL8181 :

http://rtl8181.sourceforge.net/

RItalMan, I mentioned this URL when I was describing what is thie CPU wink   OK, just to make a bit more clear.

Is anyone working currently on getting support for these devices for OpenWRT?

Okay, I'll start doing some action with these. Stay tuned. smile
