I am new to openwrt and have been using tomato, but now want to try out openwrt. but before I brick my router I have a question.

what is the difference between these 2 files for kamikaze/8.09/brcm47xx/   ? (what does the 'em' mean?)

openwrt-wrt54g3g-em-squashfs.bin
openwrt-wrt54g3g-squashfs.bin

thanks!

f

does anyone know where in the documentation where this is listed?

I think it's the router model, if you have WRT54G3G-EM use
openwrt-wrt54g3g-em-squashfs.bin
otherwise use
openwrt-wrt54g3g-squashfs.bin

Your model name is placed under your router.
