Does it mean no broadcom wifi on 2.6 kernels in this release?

For me WiFi worked pretty well on my asus wl500 with 8.09 (except for occasional shutdowns). I don't want to lose it with this update.

Right.

Isn't it b43 the driver for wireless Broadcom? Has it been updated with this release?

Where is it possible to download the source?

Thank you

Found!

b43 is a mac80211 based driver. Recent versions of mac80211 will not work on kernels older than 2.6.27, so newer versions of b43 cannot be ported to the kernels used in 8.09. The next OpenWrt release will feature a newer version of b43.

From here:

But the 2.6 Kernelversion at linksys routers doesn:t support wireless.

Sorry. Read post #1 again. First point in the list of changes...

With 2.6 everything is clear. How about Broadcom wifi on 2.4 kernel (brcm-2.4)? Still not working?

Are you planning to upload ImageBuilder? It would be a good thing...

yeah i think this would be a good thing too
as far as i know the image builder in 8.09 is still broken ,
it would be better to fix the imagebuilder , but nope , another new version with BROKEN Imagebuilder !

You can always use the build-system.

Hey,

since the firmware Update my WRT54G doesn't find any WLAN Devices.. It shows me a blank page without any options, only Reset and Save.. Some Hours ago I surfed over the WLan with the previous Version. Can anyone help? yikes

//Edit: Oh... As I see the WRT54G has the mac80211 WLAN Device... If you say the driver was broken, this could explain why my Wifi sometimes doesn't work until a restart of the Wifi. I hope you can fix this in the next time smile Hmm but I liked the new Firmware... okay.. lets roll it back..

Sorry I am a newbie here.  I have some confusions about broadcom support in Kamikaze

-  Is b43 referring  to the broadcom proprietary driver?
-  kamikaze brcm-2.4 supports the broadcom proprietary driver
-  Kamikaz bcm47xx doesn't support broadcom proprietary driver, and mac80211 is not fully functionaing either.

Are the above three points correct?

Thanks a  lot!

i upgraded but still have the NAT port forwarding issue.. Linksys WRT54GL 2.4

how about rc2, does it manages mac80211?
