Here is a wholeflash for your unit. Once complete, it is set up as a repeater bridge. Use the reset button to restore factory defaults, them rename the stock linksys trx to a bin and flash through the gui. It is not a good idea to short pins

rename to wholeflash.bin

what jtag software are you using? What switches are you using? Don't tell me the offset, what % does it stall?

FYI.. unbuffered jtag is not very reliable. You would be much better off flashing the cfe and using tftp to put the firmware back on. The cfe would tak about 10 minutes. The wholeflash will take hours and you will always run the risk of it stalling.

with jtag 4.8 the flash is broken at 3% address 1fc02020....
with jtag 4.5 the flash is been completed at 100%; after if i launche the command jtag -backup:wholeflash /noemw the number scroll is all 00000;

my mac adderss is 00:18:F8:AB:99:DB..... you send me the just cfe.bin?
I have been flash 5 cfe.bin; after flash the AP do not work..... the led red and amber is ever on with or without LAN cable; the led on the LAN SWITCH is ever off... sad

I do not have just the cfe. I picked up that wholeflash when I was working on a V3.1. I own a V2 but the cfe's are not compatable.

If your flash is stalling at 3%:

erase wholeflash

tjtag -erase:wholeflash /noemw (twice)

now without power cycling the device flash the wholeflash

-tjtag -flash:wholeflash /noewm /noreset /nobreak

If it stalls at "clearing watchdog", add the /nocwd switch.

See if that helps.

I got a cfe for a wap54g v3.1..

I can not figure out how to post it here..

I have a wap54g v1.0 bricked, this use a chip 4702 and 2MB flash, I have the jtag ready, but need wholeflash. bin kernel.bin cfe.bin nvram.bin     please help me please!

will a 1.0 cfe work?

I know where one can be located.

Hello friend, I tried the wholeflash.bin you linked here, but did`nt work, I think the reason is that my access point is ver 1.0 and you wholeflash is 3.1  my green and red leds keep turned on. I think the cfe v1.0 is ok, but I afraid I need wholeflash.bin kernel.bin nvram.bin too or not? thank you for your help

ths is a link to a wap54gV1 CFE. I have not nor can I test it. I have a V2.

erase wholeflash (twice), flash the cfe, then load the stock linksys fw on your unit via the management screen or tftp, then start from scratch. You must rename the file to cfe.bin

I don't know off hand what switches are required. start with /noemw

You know that the stock IP for a WAP is 192.168.1.245 right? Try pinging 192.168.1.245

yes I know that thanks, somebody told that there is some firmware abiable in dd-wrt.com that can be flashed to the access point just by jtag cable, he told its a bin and I shoul change namexxx.bin by kernel.bin , another guy told that is enough with flash cfe.bin to start the AP and then I get pinging to do a tftp firmware to 192.168.1.1 . Im not really sure what to do

If you have flashed a cfe, the default IP is 192.168.1.245. If you flash dd-wrt (micro only), then the ip will be 192.168.1.1 after the flash. dd-wrt does not change the cfe on a wap. If you watch arp while the wap is booting, it will start at .245, then once the fw takes over, it is now .1

And... If you put dd-wrt on the box from linksys fw, you just flash through the upgrade gui, you do not need jtag.

My hands on experience is only with a V2. It could be that a V1 is different.. Don't think so though.

The discussion might have continued from here.
