Topic: Adding a custom application to a stock OpenWrt install?

I installed OpenWrt on my AR430W router and it works great.  Now I want to write a custom server application that will run on the AR430W. 

What is the easiest way to accomplish this task?

If I want to rebuild OpenWrt as it is distributed for my platform, can I get the configuration files from some place?  I've downloaded the sources from SVN, but I don't want to end up building an image that is missing something.

I'm no stranger to embedded systems, as I make a living porting uClinux to new platforms.  Unfortunately, this is my first experience with the OpenWrt build system.

Ok, building OpenWrt proved to be far easier than I expected.  Guess it is time for me to research creating a new package.
