I have openwrt running with ipv6 configured for my local network via radvd.
This is nice, but It can be frustrating trying to ssh to 2001:1937:145:12:e208:f1ff:fe8a:ce18
how do I get local dns setup for my servers at home?

DHCPv6 and a DNS server ?
IPv6 DNS name resolution for DHCPv4-configured hosts in dnsmasq would be nice (and a patch would probably be doable)
I've temporarily solved the issue on my LAN by using MDNS with Avahi (on the server and the client machines, the daemon is pretty big for a standard OpenWRT-based router...). It works well even through a VPN
