Topic: Package vsftpd md5sum mismatch

The content of this topic has been archived on 22 Apr 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

I built trunk for the NSLU2 today, r16606, but realized that I had omitted vsftpd.  After opkg update I tried opkg install vsftpd, but got the following message:  "Package vsftpd md5sum mismatch. Either the opkg or the package index are corrupt. Try 'opkg update'."

Are the snapshots necessarily incompatible with a built system, or is there something wrong with the snapshot or its md5sum?

Ok, snapshot md5sums not updated.

I got around this with

rm /tmp/opkg-lists/snapshots
opkg install http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/trunk/ixp4xx/packages/vsftpd_2.1.1-1_armeb.ipk

Hope this gets fixed soon.

You just have to build by yourself and use your own local pacakge repo...

What's the use of having a tool presented which doesn't work?  It is a tool which I have found useful in the past.

The discussion might have continued from here.
