Recently I conducted wireless performance test on the same platform compex 54g. The only difference was ram but lesser one was better
Here is my scenario (same mpci card pigtail and antenna was used by swapping the card along with pigtail)
ap 01
OS : Ikarusos
Platform : wp54g
Ram : 16mb
ap 02
OS : Openwrt 8.09 17618
Platfrom : wp54g
Ram : 32mb
distance was 15 mtrs indoors
while client connected to ikarusos ap, was rock solid with the rssi of 37-40 and the latency to ap was :

while client connected to Openwrt the rssi was fluctuating from 12-40. Ping to ap was giving high latency of over 1 second and dropping of packets.
