And there it sits. I've also gone in and tried bringing up eth0 but can't communicate over it neither inbound or out, not even a ping. Help!

I've tried 8.09, 8.09.1, and 8.09.2rc2. All gave the same results of hanging up at the two points I posted above. Still not sure why this would be happening and found no reports of other people seeing it.

All 3 also show eth0 link as down while it works just fine when I'm in redboot as that's how I'm getting the firmware to it over tftp. Bad driver for the ethernet adapter? This goes against reports that it is accessible over the link after bringing it up, so possibly being caused by the boot hangups?

I'm just hoping to get this working as the Netgear firmware releases are all broken in one way or another. I'm about to try dd-wrt to see if I get better results.

Just reporting back that DD-WRT works with very little hassle on the WG302v1. I had to change the WAN port assignment to get routing to work, but otherwise it was up and running right away and has allowed me to eliminate some extra equipment I was using for routing. I'm still interested in getting open-wrt running on these units but until then I needed a solution that worked and DD was it.

The discussion might have continued from here.
