Topic: KAMIKAZE - Strange errors, file edit hangs and usb-stick mount fails

The content of this topic has been archived on 4 May 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

Hello,
Since 2 month I have strange problems with my WGT634U  (kamikaze 7.07).
I suspect some kind of memory corruption.

- The vi command  hanged when I edit  the firewall.users rules file.
I was obliged to delete the file and create a new one, since then I'm afraid to change any configuration settings.

- It can't mount usb pen drive any more, other devices are working well ( printer, usb sound card).

When I plug and unplug the usb pen drive, the kernel says :

usb 3-1: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 3
usb 3-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
scsi0 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices
usb-storage: device found at 3
usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning

I forced the usb-storage module re-installation but it didn't solve the problem.

What do you think it is ?
I want to upgrade to the last version but before I want to be sure my hardware has no problem
(I prefere an "all nearly working" router to a bricked one).

Thank you for your help.

oops,
in the title replace "usb-stick" into "usb-pen-drive"
