Folks,
I have rewritten my articles on two typical configurations for the latest OpenWRT 10.03 release:
* http://josefsson.org/openwrt/wlan.html
* http://josefsson.org/openwrt/dongle.html
Enjoy!

Thanks for the guides. Good info and very informative.
I've been playing with WDS lately (however w/ Atheros + madwifi instead of Broadcom). I don't remember the exact wireless configuration I used, but I know I only used 1 wireless interface per device (WDS). I may not have it configured in the best way though. I noticed each of your routers have 2 wireless interfaces: 1 AP and 1 WDS. Is this required for Broadcom, or could you just use 1 WDS interface on each router? If so, can you elaborate on the advantage of using 2 interfaces vs. 1? Thanks.
Also, does the firewall on the slave router need to be disabled?

Yes.
/etc/init.d/firewall disable
/etc/init.d/firewall stop
