Topic: Once again client mode: what about WPA? HowTo??

Hi.

I successfully got client mode running on my WRT54Gv2.2.
That is only possilbe with the latest Whiterussian from nbd. RC2 doesn't work!! (Took me a long time to figure that out... wink)

BUT: It worked only WITHOUT encryption! I could NOT get it working with my WPA encryption. Isn't it supported yet? Or are there any special options?

Any advice?

Use wl0_mode=wet and set up WPA encryption like for AP mode (with wl0_akm).
If it doesn't work with your settings, try psk (WPA1) and TKIP

Yeah: reply from the Master! smile

OK, I tried wet but then I couldn't ping my AP (aslo a WRT). Hence I use sta instead.

Is there any special routing or whatsoever necessary for wet?
(My settings are similar to local/fox' http://openwrt.org/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=11968#p11968)

wet should behave like sta. No special routing needed.

I'm working on the WPA today.. I'll post my findings when I get it working. I have found with the setup I have I loss connection after 8 hours or so but haven't had time to research it. I manual have to use the wl join to rejoin the network without a reboot.
