I have got this oops twice on different WRT :

I am not sure to have decoded it correctly with ksymoops (I have used a 386 machine). Any hint ?

wifi seems to oops the system. nbd any idea?

Can you reproduce it? Does it happen on reboot? Can you post your nvram settings and OpenWrt version?

I didn't find any mean to reproduce it. It seems to be rare : on 50 WRT during one week, I only get it twice. The two AP that oopsed are now happily running. I have one WRT that oopses at each boot, I will check if it is the same oops this evening (but it could just be a faulty WRT). I am using the latest white russian with some modifications, mainly the bridge-nf patch, the ipset patch and additional userland packages. Here are the NVRAM settings (I was using Sveasoft before, therefore there are useless settings) :

Moreover, I am now using gcc-3.3 to compile instead of gcc-4. I don't know if this could solve anything.

I've never seen this before. Is this RC2 or CVS?

Where is wlc_rxflowcontrol function located ?

Inside the binary wl.o blob.

/home/wbx/openwrt/staging_dir_mipsel/bin/mipsel-linux-uclibc-nm modules/lib/modules/2.4.30/build/drivers/net/wl/wl.o|grep wlc_rxflowcontrol
0003ba18 T wlc_rxflowcontrol

"T" The symbol is in the text (code) section.

How you use ksymoops to decode the kernel oops? I just trying to debug madwifi kernel oops, but can't decode, because it is a kernel module.

Please show me the command line you use, thx.

Far out of control then. Is it possible from the oops to know which line of wificonf.c was being executed ?

The command line is in the ksymoops output ! ;-) Here it is :

ksymoops -e -v vmlinux -M -L -k /mnt/firmware-wifi/vor-ksyms -o ../root/lib/modules/2.4.30 < oops

oops contains the oops, I run the command in build_mipsel/linux directory. vor-ksyms is the output of cat /proc/ksyms. I am not an expert, so I am not sure that all that is correct. I have accurate results without giving cat /proc/modules output, so I don't give it (-L).

Not really. You could compile a wifi app with many printf to see when this happens.

I also have a oops in fault.c, but this one is registered in my dmesg.

You may fix this be usng :

nvram set boardrev=0x10
nvram commit

This is already fixed in CVS.

The discussion might have continued from here.
