I am wondering if it is possible to use WhiteRussian on this particular router without fear of bricking it or any other problems

I was just thinking the same thing.
I've been browsing around the documentation and saw that version up to v4 are supported with minimal problems for serval types of OpenWRT.
I understand that after v4 the difference in hardware causes some limitations.
Which OpenWRT's have been successful with v6 and whats the best method to install? And are there any special options required while compiling? Compile vs Image?
Looking for some noob friendly advice on what may the best route.
