Topic: Difference between WGT642 V1 and V2

I have a WGT624v2 and I see that the v1 is supported. Will the v1 flash work on v2? anything I should look out for?

thanks.

It's not supported, it's a "Work in Progress". Please check the size of the flash and ram chips, and the used components, and post back.

FYI: I noticed today on a shopping trip that there is also a WGT642 V3 on the market.  Staples had one for sale in Cambridge, MA.

the v3 has trend micro's internet security application integrated into it.

* Trend Micro Home Network Security available on WGT624 version 3 only. Version 3 products are white (as pictured above) and have WGT624v3 printed on the label at the bottom of the router.

Just checked my WGT624v2:

The Marvell switch chip hides under a tenacious sticker sad

Probably the most notable difference is that v2 has only one header (near the power input, 2x6 pins, labeled JP1). I hope it's a serial connector.
I'll post some pictures soon and try to make a serial connection (unfortunately I'm not really experienced in electronics, soldering etc).

The discussion might have continued from here.
