An HPLIP version 3.9.12 package is available for Backfire 10.03 and works great with old HP multifunctional printers like the HP3030 for both CUPS-printing and SANE-scanning.

However newer HP multifunctional printer models like the HP4500 require more recent versions of HPLIP such as version 3.11+.

I tried to cross-compile HP's opensource HPLIP 3.11.10 following openwrt wiki cross-compile guide without success (stuck with following error: "/usr/lib/libjpeg.so: could not read symbols: File in wrong format").

Is there somewhere a recipie to build the HPLIP package?
