Topic: Howto enable AFP share on WNDR3700?n00b

Hello,
I'm using this build on my router https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php … 22&p=1 and OSX Lion.

It's a great build with USB support and Netatalk 2.2.1, really fully featured as the topic states.
But I can't see my mounted drive /mnt/sda1 on AFP dough I see if on SMB share in the Finder.
In the description it says : "NFS/SMB/FTP/AFP shares /mnt/sda1 and maps everyone to root with R/W access "
I tried reading the documentation disabling samba completely and editing different config files but can't crack the problem.
It's a noob thing i know but i'm no expert in linux.

Please help!

I need help on this one too... Thanks

I've just taken AFP support out of the main build because of space issues, but if you have a V2 (16MB of ROM) you can just "opkg update && opkg install netatalk" and that should be it. I'll make a "fat build" for 16MB ROM units soon that will include everything but the kitchen sink.

Thanks arokh! I am waiting for your next firmware!

Extroot is a mess, and I would not recommend it to new users.

- Unsolved bugs in overlayfs: https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/9221
- Complicates firmware upgrade
- Poor documentation, just look at that wiki page

Also, some times it just doesn't make sense to use extroot. In this case, you are recommending extroot to install netatalk. What if the user wants to plug in a different USB drive and have it shared through AFP? Running services are better to place in ROM.

Do you remember the last build that still had AFP support for WNDR3700v1?
