I am currently in India, and decided to buy a cheap wireless router and found the iBall Baton Wireless-N. It is ok for its price, around 1300 Rs. But after used it for my purposes I decided to do some examinations and found out that it is just a rebranded TP-Link TP-WR741 and I decided to try OpenWrt. With just a few small changes it worked straight out of the box with the version for WR741.

I share here the modified file if you don't want to do the modification yourself.

What is changed is at 0x44 to change to 00360001 and fixed the checksum (using fixsum).

Hi... I have just downloaded the firmware you have given but the router rejects it with an error "Error code: 18004
File transmit failed, please check the inputted file name."

I have tried renaming the boot.bin file to "iB-WRX150NE-en-up_916" as I have a firmware with me [ iBALL website] but it didn't work..

Please help me out..

Hardware Version:     iB-WRX150NE 1.0 00000000

Please @Superhai it doesnot work in the latest firmware could you show us what tool you used and what open-wrt firmware please(ver. ?)

Superhai Thank you so much for the firmware coz my router was dead WAN port had stopped working and iball have removed its firmware from its web site open wrt gave a new life to it.

others iB-WRX150NE is not a different version but a different product from i ball iB-WRX150N hence this one is not useful to you guys :-(

But you can still download the latest updates from iball site though i would also like to know how do ppl create a custom rom for there routers am now a fan of open wrt ;-)
