Good news,Juhosg add the WR841N/ND v8 support in the trunk code. Thanks Juhosg.

Anyone other tried the firmware from the link given by jnjn a post ago?

jnjn firmware doesn't work on my v8/intl (rev:1.0 board), stuck at book with a rootfs error. I recovered my router building firmware from source (r33741) and seem it works flawless. I hooked my serial on JP1 like in v7.x models.

Also my router has u-boot and 32mb dram as reported by nanni92.

U-Boot 1.1.4 (Aug 2 2012 - 11:32:57)

U-boot AP123

DRAM: 32 MB
id read 0x100000ff
Flash: 4 MB
Using default environment
root@OpenWrt:~# cat /proc/meminfo
MemTotal: 29364 kB

I have version TL-WR841N v8.2
When I enter  web-shell on stock firmware (http://router_ip/userRpmNatDebugRpm26525557/linux_cmdline.html) I got this interesting information:

# cat /proc/meminfo&
MemTotal: 30244 kB
MemFree: 10292 kB

VmallocTotal: 1048404 kB
VmallocUsed: 2296 kB
VmallocChunk: 1034508 kB

It seems that v 8.2 have 32MB RAM big_smile

Can anybody else can confirm it?

It seems, that the international version of V8 has 32MB indeed, see https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php … 38#p179438, but I can't check it myself, because I don't have it anymore, no openwrt = not a router for me smile But I'm glad it is now supported and 32MB seems like a very good news wink

I have two TL-WR841N v8.0
Can confirm they are with 32MB RAM and 4MB flash. Can not give more information because I do not want to void warranty.
Flashed one of them with r33743. Everything is working fine but Wireless connection is unstable with no errors in dmesg.

it seems that there is some diffents form chinese version and international version
the Chinese Version has 2M Flash (VxWork) 16M Ram, you need hack  by yourself, change Flash to 4M and Ram to 32M. also you need to change the u-boot,
and the international version, you just need to make the openwrt and flash it !

I can confirm TL-WR841N v8.2. - 32MB
Can somebody upload image for version v8.2 ?
Thank you

Hi all! I just bought the 8.1 version yesterday. How can you see the factory boot or the ram capacity?

Thanks!

You can see it in browser
go to:
http://IP-ADDRESS-OF-YOUR-ROUTER/userRpmNatDebugRpm26525557/linux_cmdline.html

FYI, Attitude Adjustment beta2 (r33624 of AA branch) is built with v8 support; look for openwrt-ar71xx-generic-tl-wr841n-v8 at http://downloads.openwrt.org/attitude_a … x/generic/.

I don't know if it works also for .1 and .2 revision but works on v8.0/intl.

Thanks, now I can see the command line, but the user name and pass does not work :s, I have used admin:admin root:password root:root root:passw0rd and nothing. So I cannot see the factory boot, I'm new with this, so if you can explain to me that, I'd really appreciate it big_smile

Password and Username for mini shell are hard-coded into stock firmware and cannot be changed.

Installed on rev .1
Bricked the router.
Two lights light up, but nothing more.
No IPs released under DHCP.

what file have you installed specifically? what build of STOCK firmware did you have?

Same exact issue - router v8.2 bricked. i tried to access it by fail safe and putty no luck. does this mean i have to solder a ca-42  and connect through serial?

anyone have any luck with this yet?

David what image did you use?? If jffs2, why?

Yup, jffs2. Why? because i'm an idiot.

It was just a question to track down the issue, it should be normal that every image works!!

I'm afraid you will need serial console

As a newbie to this sort of stuff, can you elaborate a little further with specifics?

And the honest reason I installed the version I did: It was the top of the list. Newbie Mistake.
