Kinda new here so my question might be stupid. Here we go.
I upgraded my wrt54gl to whiterussian with squashfs but never ran the code below
nvram set boot_wait=on
nvram set boot_time=10
nvram commit && reboot
It still works but only as a switch and I can't ssh/telnet or access the web. Can anyone please help?

Power the unit on, wait until the DMZ led lights up, press reset for a short moment (not more than a second). The dmz and/or power leds should start to blink.
At this point you can reach the box at 192.168.1.1 with telnet.
