Topic: what does ad hoc mode really mean in openwrt?

In the configuration of wl0_infra,the documents said :
wl0_infra : 0 = Ad Hoc mode, 1 = normal AP/Client mode

so what will happen if I set wl0_infra=0,and what can I do with setting wl0_infra=0
In a word ,what can I do with ad hoc mode' help?

another question:in the documents,wl0_mode:ap = Access Point (master mode), sta= Client mode.
if I set wl0_mode=sta on routerA,is it true that routerA will be connected wirelessly to a master whose wl0_mode is set ap, just like a laptop?
