Just looking at upgrading a wrt54gs from rc3 to rc4, read all the blurbs about backing up and flashing to upgrade.  My question is which bin file do I need from

http://downloads.openwrt.org/whiterussian/rc4/

do I get it from bin or defualt ... micro ..  pptp and what is the difference between
openwrt-wrt54gs_v4-squashfs.bin

and

openwrt-wrt54gs_v4-jffs2.bin

can't find anything in the readme

Read the documentation.  http://wiki.openwrt.org/OpenWrtDocs/Installing
Also, the 00-README file in the download directory contains everything you need to know about the differences between squashfs and jffs2, and which file you need to install with.  I can't see why you feel that it's lacking in some way.

Remember - don't post regarding these types of topics without first reading all the documentation.  It only gets the developers upset!

Thanks for the link is clears up the _v4 difference, when I am installing from linksys image to openwrt, but what if I am upgrading from rc3 to rc4 - will either one work, plus I can't seem to find any reference to the bin, micro, pptp, default directories and what the difference, if any is
