Hello again...
First thanks to all the ones that hel me so far and to the ones that can help me on this one.
What I intend to do is to remodel my network at home. what I have now is something like this
Internet <-> Modem (Firewall) Router from the ISP <-> Computer Desktop
(With Wireless) <-> Printer
(The wireless SSID is MAESTRO) <-> Power Line Plug #1
(4 LAN ports) <-> NOT CONNECTED
(DHCP server)
(DNS Server)
(LAN IP: 192.168.1.1)
OpenWRT Router TPLink WR842ND <-> Power Line Plug #2
(With Wireless) <-> NAS
(The wireless SSID is CONDUCTOR) <-> Computer Desktop
(4 LAN ports) <-> NOT CONNECTED
(1 WAN not connected)
(DHCP server turned off)
(Static ip address)
(LAN IP: 192.168.1.2)
(MASK: 255.255.255.0)
(GATEWAY: 192.168.1.1)
(DNS: 192.168.1.1)
Now what I want is to have the same wirless SSID on both routers. Is it possible? I do not intend to put the second router as a wireless ange extender because I have the power line to give it network access. Is there a way to make this append?
Another question.
The TPLink WR842ND with OpenWRT apears on the main router (the one that the ISP gave me) as having the name "new-host"
I changed the host name of the router with the comand "> hostname NEWNAME" and checked if it changed and it did. Is there a way to broad cast the host name so that the main router knows it?
Thank you
